The Osborne Association and the Fatherhood Research and Practice Network (FRPN) are hiring graduate students for a joint research project December 2017-September 2018. Research Assistants (RAs) will conduct one-on-one interviews with mothers and fathers, using an interview guide. The fathers are men who have recently been released from incarceration and are enrolled in a fatherhood and job development program at Osborne. The study will examine whether the quality of fathersí co-parenting relationships with mothers improves when mothers participate in a co-parenting course. RAs are also needed to observe program sessions for fidelity to the program model. The study is affiliated with an evaluation of Osborne's fatherhood program being conducted by the Research and Evaluation Center at John Jay. Hours are part-time, including evenings. Paid training will be provided. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participate in web-based trainings provided by FRPN and Osborne on the research protocol.
  2. Conduct on-one-on interviews with program participants using an interview guide.
  3. Observe and document program sessions for fidelity to program model.
 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program, preferably related to criminal justice, human services and/or social research.

Experience: Some experience with qualitative research is preferred, but not required.

Related Skills or Knowledge:  Experience working with people in a human services setting or customer service role.
